2010 Breakout Speakers
Featuring Morning & Afternoon Breakout Sessions!

Breakout sessions are highly popular and a valuable part of the Women’s Success Forum. We are pleased to announce that we are bringing back two sets of breakout sessions – one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Read more about the speakers for this year's event:

“Think Like a CEO” Debra Benton
You can be the brightest in your business specialty and produce measurable results.  Unfortunately, if you’re ineffective communicating with other people, then it’s all for nothing.  The most capable people don’t always succeed - those who are more effective in projecting their abilities do. The same rules apply in every occupation.  To be the best and brightest, you must also build followership, be consistently impressive, credible, genuine, trusted, liked, comfortable and confident, and avoid self-sabotaging habits.  Raise your performance and that of your organization.  Benton’s workshop will help you to ensure that the message you send is the same message you intend for the receiver.

For the past 22 years, Debra Benton has been coaching executives with some of the nation’s largest companies, helping them to hone skills and advance their careers.  She is the author of eight books, including her most recent, CEO Material: How to Be a Leader in Any Organization.  She has been featured in Time, Business Week, Fortune and The New York Times, and she has appeared on The Today Show and Good Morning America.

"Innovate Like Edison" Sarah Miller Caldicott
Sarah Miller Caldicott advises senior executives, business owners and team leaders on how to structure their teams for maximum innovation impact so they can re-wire their corporate cultures and hire the kind of employees that will thrive in an innovation-driven culture. Concerned that America was losing its edge, Sarah spent three years researching Thomas Edison’s innovation methods. Now she shares the masterful system that enabled Edison to develop world-changing innovations. She explores the Five Competencies of Innovation™ and the 25 Elements which support them, helping you to create Innovation Literacy and putting Edison’s innovations into practice.

A great grand-niece of Thomas Edison, Sarah Miller Caldicott has been surrounded by creativity and innovation throughout her life. Sarah began her 20-year career, as a Marketing Executive for firms such as PepsiCo and Unilever. She is now a consultant serving Fortune 500 companies. She is the co-author of a ground-breaking book on Thomas Edison’s innovative best-practices, Innovate Like Edison: The Success System of America’s Greatest Inventor.

“Gen Y: Improving the Work Ethic of Your Future Leaders" Eric Chester
The most common source of consternation for employers developing young talent, is developing a strong work ethic in the next generation – because they are the ones on your front line. If you're not connecting with them, they’re not connecting with your customers and you’re leaving all kinds of money on the table. What happens then? Eric Chester will show you why the work ethic in America is declining, and how it’s affecting your business and our nation. He’ll then provide you with solid, actionable ideas and tools for developing the young talent in your organization and instilling the work ethic they should have received at home and in school—but didn’t.

For the past 25 years, the founder and President of Generation Why, Eric Chester has been the premiere expert on the younger generation and how they connect with today’s businesses. A former teacher, coach and author of nine books about youths, he frequently appears on national media including: ABC News, 20/20, MSNBC, FoxNews, CNN and others. His newest book is, Getting Them to Give a Damn – How to Get Your Front Line to Care about Your Bottom Line.

“The Fine Art of Small Talk” - Debra Fine
Do you dread networking events, meeting new people, hospitality suites and business-related mingling functions? Does attending another open house make you want to run inside your own and lock the door? These social business occasions represent opportunities to develop relationships and broaden social and business networks. Debra teaches conversation skills, business networking techniques for starting conversations, mastering introductions and remembering names, becoming an active listener, body language, handling awkward situations, resuscitating dying conversations, exiting conversations with grace and diplomacy, and more.

Debra Fine, former engineer and well-known author of The Fine Art of Small Talk, teaches professionals the conversation skills and networking techniques they need to develop business relationships, build rapport and enhance networking opportunities. Her newest book is The Fine Art of Big Talk: How to Win Clients, Deliver Great Presentations, and Solve Conflicts at Work. Recent media appearances include The Today Show and CNN.

Margie Warell

Great leadership requires the courage to create a truly compelling vision, effectively confront undermining forces and take the risks necessary to change that which no longer serves the interest of the organization’s stakeholders.  Without this leaders cannot lead - they can only manage.  This powerful presentation will help you redefine the leader within, enabling you to better lead yourself and others to superior performance and stronger results.  Learn the three core pillars required to be more productive in what you do; more passionate about why you do it; and more courageous in pursuing the vision that inspires you.
